The LDU offers accuracy, throughput and efficiency of space to optimize your central-fill or mail-order pharmacy. This fully automated, high-output system dispenses, labels and verifies units of use and prepack products that vary in shape and size.

Ensure Accuracy with Multi-Step Verification

The LDU has single, double or triple product pick dispensing capabilities. Products are automatically dispensed and verified using the National Drug Code (NDC), then labeled with patient-specific information. A direct thermal imprinter produces high-quality printed individual and variable information on each label. Products are automatically verified again in the LDU to ensure the correct patient-specific label is on the right unit of use prescription. The medication is then discharged into a tote on a transfer conveyor. This multi-step verification process assures accuracy every time. An auto-reject feature allows the system to continue operation and the technician to review exceptions without slowing production.

Alleviate Workflow Bottlenecks

Tension’s auto-archiving system records and validates medications for expedited pharmacist verification downstream, alleviating what is often a bottleneck in your operations. Instead of verifying each item by hand, pharmacists virtually review contents and data on a computer monitor, speeding up this final stage of verification.

Reduce Costs and Increase Efficiency

If you are looking to enhance your current setup, the LDU can easily interface with a traditional tote line and is available in multiple configurations for a customized system. Keeping your LDU fully stocked is easy to do - its rear product loading slots allow your employees to replenish stock without slowing the machine's output.

Tension provides training for your personnel. Your Account Executive remains as a valuable resource throughout the life of your LDU. Support and commonly available spare parts assure your system runs when you need it.
