Bottle Packaging Machine (BPM) for Pharmacies

The Boris Bottle Packaging Machine (BPM) is a high-output automated prescription packaging system for bottles and vials for pharmacies. The BPM provides accuracy, throughput and efficiency of space to optimize your central-fill or mail-order pharmacy. With the BPM you can:
- Pack one to four bottles/vials into a shipping-ready polybag.
- Run orders at rates and throughputs significantly faster than a typical packaging clerk.
- Customize by easily integrating and interfacing with your quality pharma system.
- Best in class fill pack technology for pharmaceutical filling machines
Bottles are fed into Tension's BPM via an integrated conveyor system. The BPM reads patient information from the bottle then determines how many bottles or vials are included in the customer's order. Patient-specific documentation is printed automatically. Next, the bottles and documents are inserted into a polyfilm shipping bag. The shipping label is applied directly to the package. Let's chat and demo our bottle packaging machines to see how it can help your pharmacy.

The Boris Bottle Packaging Machine (BPM) helps you optimize your central-fill or mail-order pharmacy. A high-output automated prescription packaging system for one to four bottles and vials, the BPM increases accuracy, throughput and efficiency for your pharmaceutical operation.
Increase Speed and Throughput
Are you looking to increase the speed and accuracy of your prescription fulfillment operations? The fully-automated BPM operates at rates significantly faster than a packaging clerk, packing prescriptions and patient-specific documents in bags that are printed on-demand. It can easily interface to a single bottle line or puck based conveyance system, and comes in multiple configurations for a customized system to fit your needs. Most pharmacies select Tension's Scan-Print-Pack-Seal configuration for optimal efficiency.
In addition to improved throughput, the BPM provides multi-stage verification to assure accuracy.
Verification Stage 1:
Filled prescription bottles or vials are brought to the BPM via an automated conveyer. Bottles flow through the system as the BPM reads each patient-specific barcode and matches it to an order. The system accurately assesses if single or multiple bottles are included in a patient order, grouping the bottles together for packaging. Once scanned, the BPM knows which patient documents to print and generates on-demand documents from Kyocera printers.
Verification Stage 2:
In a second layer of verification, the BPM scans and verifies the patient-specific documents which are then folded in half using Tension's Auto-Fold technology.
Verification Stage 3:
Once fully verified, the BPM deposits all prescriptions and auto-fold documents into a package. At the same time the machine scans the barcode on the outside of the polybag to ensure it matches the patient literature pack and prescription bottles. Once the bag scan is complete and the barcodes matched, the BPM seals the bag and drops it onto the take-away conveyor.
The package moves along the conveyor in route to its final destination - the customer.
In the event that any of the scans do not read or match, the system redirects the order for review by a technician. The auto-reject feature allows the system to continue operating while the technician reviews exceptions, without slowing down production.
Count on Tension to provide training for your personnel and support for your BPM. The system utilizes commonly available spare parts to assure your system runs when you need it. Throughout the life of your BPM, your Account Executive remains a valuable resource for you and your team.
