Learn how Tension’s innovative SLAM Line can bring cost and labor savings to your operations.
Tension’s SLAM System is an all-in-one label applicator system that expedites your customers’ orders by automatically weighing, dimensioning, labeling and manifesting them. Using our SLAM Line lets you reduce or redistribute your distribution center’s staffing resources.
While a Tension-designed comprehensive label applicator system is developed specifically for your operation, typical operations follow the following process.
Packages enter the SLAM Line on a conveyor system and eventually move onto a scale for weighing and dimensioning.
Using the information from the license plate number (LPN) on the package, the SLAM system can either verify the weight of the package or weigh it with an option to measure package dimensions (DIM) for rate shopping. The SLAM line then prints a carrier-compliant shipping label.
Once labeled, both the LPN and shipping label are scanned to confirm a match (so your customer receives the correct package). If the labels match, the finished package is then sent to manifesting. If the labels do not match, the package is diverted for special handling.
Tension provides customized software solutions which will integrate seamlessly in your eCommerce packaging operation. Our smart software is developed to communicate with the different systems customers have in place. Plus, it uses common design platforms to make it easier for operators to transition from multiple workstations.
